Rose Parker was ten years old when she discovered she had a gift. She could take an image and ... reproduce it. As a pony mad girl it was mostly horses she drew which nurtured a love for two things important to her; horses and art. After failing to get into art college to be an illustrator straight from school she studied three dimensional design and qualified with a degree. But as her parents from working class Derbyshire told her; you cant make a living drawing! Soshe also has a degree as a teacher and taught art design graphics as well as woodwork and food technology (cooking to you and me). Being a forces wife she moved around the country many times and her teaching career was a patchwork of every sort and size of school. Teaching however was not good for her health. She had inherited Rheumatoid Arthritis from her mother and the stresses of teaching bring up children and looking after four horses meant that at the age of 46 she had both knees totally replaced.
